The term mei-tai refers to a type of Asian-based carrier. Pronounced may tie, its meaning in Chinese (Cantonese) is Mei : carried on the shoulders and Tai : carrying strap. Its simplicity is what makes it so popular. There are many variations in existence, and the basic common element is a waist-belt and shoulder straps attached to a central panel where baby is seated. The carrier adapts to a wide range of body types. The Chimparoo Mei Tai has a number of unique characteristics: soft woven cotton twill, system of lateral adjustments for a newborn, seat adjustments to accommodate a baby younger than 2-3 months of age, a sleep hood, and padding in the waist, shoulder straps and under the thighs. All these elements make an ideal carrier for the newborn. The carrier is certified for use with a child weighing 7-35 lbs, and thus can be used for as long as you feel comfortable. Your child can be worn in 4 positions: on the front facing in, on the front facing out, on the hip and on the back. The Chimparoo Mei Tai is often considered a hybrid, the compromise between a woven wrap and a soft structured carrier such as the TREK or MULTI 2.0. Made for both men and women, with a look that is both urban and natural. It owes its cozy feel, comfort and support to the same supple, lightweight cotton twill found in our woven wraps. The long shoulder straps will accommodate most body types and allow the carrier to be worn outside your coat.
Wish I had bought this for my first! It is so adjustable that it works for an infant up to a toddler. It's soft and comfortable to wear as well. This is my fifth carrier and my favourite by far. We are using it to carry an infant in leg casts for clubfoot, and it is working really well. My husband can wear it as well despite being bigger than me.

Love it!
I already own wrap tais, but wanted a regular Mei Tai for quick up on the go without having to deal with the wrap straps dragging on the ground and smaller storage that my SSC. This Mei Tai definitely works well for my needs and is so comfortable for wearing my 4 month old.

I love this carrier. Really easy. Adjustable for my 2.5 month old!
My only concern is that I can't tie the waist belt tight enough. My waist is pretty small, and I wear it up high because my guy is little. When the waist belt is pulled snug, I'm trying to tie the knot in the cushioned part and that's not easy. Would like the cushion to be smaller.

Love this wrap! It's so easy to put on and get the baby in safely and securely. I could never figure out woven wraps or ring slings and structured carriers I couldn't get to fit quite right.
I delivered baby girl via c section and I was able to use this at 3 weeks pp, very comfortable.
My baby loves the wrap also.
Highly recommend this wrap, we got it in amethyst and it is beautiful!

Returns will be accepted within 14 days of delivery on new, unwashed, unused items in the original packaging. Items must be in the condiotion it was received, free of marks, perfume, odors or pet hair, etc. You MUST contact us prior to returning an item. Please note that you will be responsible for the cost of returning the items.
Refunded items are subject to a 10% restocking fee. Shipping costs are non-refundable. Actual shipping costs (not the flat rate fee we charge) will be deducted from the refund amount. If your order exceeded the minimum for free shipping ($129) and the return drops the order below the minimum, the actual shipping costs will also be deducted from the refund amount.
We are happy to exchange an item for a different colour or size within 14 days but please note that you will be responsible for the shipping costs.
Damages and issues Please inspect your order upon reception and contact us immediately if the item is defective, damaged or if you receive the wrong item, so that we can evaluate the issue and make it right.
Exceptions / non-returnable items Certain types of items cannot be returned, like perishable goods and personal care goods. Clearance items or items discounted 30% or more are final sale. Please get in touch if you have questions or concerns about your specific item.
Unfortunately, we cannot accept returns on gift cards.
Exchanges We can provide you with a store gift card (rather than a refund and waive the restock fee) and you can place a new order for the item that you would like.
Refunds Once we’ve received and inspected your return you’ll be automatically refunded on your original payment method (minus any shipping fees and restock fee) if approved. Please remember it can take some time for your bank or credit card company to process and post the refund too.
